Weeneebayko Health Ahtuskaywin

As representatives of the peoples of the Mushkegowuk Territory, we are dedicated to continually enhancing the provision of health care services and promoting healthy lifestyles
Responsible for a regional population of 11,500 predominately Cree First Nations individuals, the qualities and characteristics of the Cree culture as it relates to health care in this region - geographically, medically & spiritually - are visually depicted in the Weeneebayko Health Ahtuskaywin's logo. The colors that make up the medicine wheel symbolize many aspects of the Aboriginal culture.
The four medicine wheel colors represent:
man: white, yellow, red and black; |
wholistic/traditional health: emotional, mental, physical and spiritual; |
laws of humanity: kindness, honesty, sharing and strength, and |
stages of man:
child, adolescent, adult and elder. |
The eagle's feather and its two shades represent the light and the dark sides of life; the successes and the obstacles that WHA will encounter in its goal to achieve the highest quality of health care for the people and the communities it serves.
