Weeneebayko Health Ahtuskaywin provides equity to the communities and the people that it serves by having equal and fair representation on its Board of Directors; one representative for each community including, two Medical Staff (Chief of Staff and Medical staff president)
In the communities of Taykwa Tagamou (New Post), Moose Factory, Moosonee, MoCreebec, Fort Albany, Kashechewan, Attawapiskat, Weenusk (Peawanuck), Chapleau and Missanabie; the First Nations Chiefs and Councils and Municipality of Moosonee all appoint their members by written resolution.
The Weeneebayko General Hospital Chief of Staff and President of Medical Staff are ex-officio voting members of the Board of Directors.
Directors are appointed for a maximum three-year term at an annual meeting of members. There is no limit to the number of terms a director may serve. A retiring director will remain in office until the dissolution or adjournment of the meeting at which time their retirement is accepted and their successor is appointed. Replacements for the retiring directors will be appointed by the Chief and Council or Chairperson and Council with the exception of Moosonee. Replacement for the Moosonee retiring director will be appointed by the Corporation of the Town of Moosonee.
