Diabetes Education Dietitian
The Weeneebayko Health Ahtuskaywin is seeking candidates for the position of DIABETES EDUCATION DIETITIAN. Under the supervision of the Director of Patient Care you will be responsible for nutrition assessment of clients and provides recommendations to the interdisciplinary team for on-going treatment on the assessment and on-going evaluations. The Dietitian works with the team to provide ongoing diabetes education with the goal of maximizing self-management for the client. As part of the Northern Diabetes Health Network and Aboriginal Diabetes Initiative program, you will function as an educator and resource member for the Mushkegowuk Territory.

 

Qualifications:

  • Member of the College of Dietitians of Ontario
  • Certified Diabetes Educator (or willingness to obtain certification within a prescribed time frame)
  • Member of the Diabetes Educator Section of the Canadian Diabetes Association
  • Bachelor’s degree in Applied Nutrition; completion of Dietetic Internship
  • Experience working with Aboriginal people and communities is an asset
  • English is essential for this position
