Infection Control Nurse
The Weeneebayko Health Ahtuskaywin is seeking applicants for an INFECTION CONTROL NURSE on a continuous full time basis. Under the direction of the Director of Patient Care, the Infection Control Nurse will provide leadership for the Infection Control program including development of policies and procedures to ensure infection prevention and control standards, and conduct training in both universal and specific infection control practices. Working in collaboration with people from all parts of the organization and using a holistic approach, the Infection Control Nurse will promote health, safety, and infection control measures at both an individual and organizational level. This is an internal and external competition.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario;
  • At minimum, completion of a Bachelor of Nursing degree
  • Candidate with Certification as an Infection Control Nurse is preferred or willingness to obtain certification within a one year timeframe
  • Certification in Central Service Techniques by CSAO preferred or willingness to pursue certification in a one year timeframe;
  • Minimum of three years nursing experience in Primary Health Care or Infection Control
  • Experience/training in the delivery of Adult Education preferred
  • Ability to develop and provide orientation, education and in-service programs for staff;
  • English is essential for this position.

Wage rate and benefits in accordance with the collective agreement.
