Weeneebayko Health Ahtuskaywin

WGH has 30 acute care beds, some of which are occupied by chronic care patients because there is no chronic care facility in the region. The remainder of the beds are utilized by all age groups from neonates to the elderly who require hospital admission. Weeneebayko General Hospital averages 1,500 admissions per annum.
The James Bay General Hospital operates hospital in-patient sites in Fort Albany (17 beds) and Attawapiskat (16 beds). WHA physicians provide medical care to these sites. Several beds at each institution are reserved for acute admissions requiring straight forward in-patient care, in-patient observation or while awaiting transfer to WGH.
