Weeneebayko Health Ahtuskaywin
The Weeneebayko Health Ahtuskaywin provides full laboratory services within the Weeneebayko General Hospital.
The Laboratory is located in the west end on the main (1st) floor hallway and can be reached at (705) 658-4544, extension 2211.
The Laboratory service provides Out-Patient blood collection from 08:30 to 16:00 Hrs. (Monday to Friday), in the specimen collection centre adjacent to the Laboratory.
A laboratory is always available 24 hours either on-site or on-call;
On-Site Hours: (Technologist)
Monday to Friday: 08:00 Hrs. to 20:00 Hrs.
Saturday: 07:30 Hrs – 11:30 Hrs.
Sundays and Statutory Holidays: 08:30 Hrs – 10:30 Hrs.
On-Call (Stand-by) Hours: (Technologist)
Monday to Friday: 20:00 Hrs. to 08:00 Hrs.
Saturday: 11:30 Hrs to 08:30 Hrs. (Sunday)
Sundays and Statutory Holidays: 10:30 Hrs to 08:00 Hrs.
The on-site service involves testing within the following disciplines:
Chemistry
Haematology
Transfusion Medicine
Test requests (and specimens) that cannot be accommodated on-site are referred out to the following referral laboratories:
Kingston General Hospital (Special
Chemistry, Special Hematology)
Public Health Laboratory – Timmins
Timmins & District Hospital.
Specimens are sent out once per day, Monday to Friday.
Turnaround time for reports is usually within 24 to 36 Hours.
