Physiotherapy Department

The Physiotherapy Department at Weeneebayko General Hospital is the provider of rehabilitation services to Moose Factory, Moosonee and all the coastal communities along the western shores of James Bay.

The department houses one full time physiotherapist and physiotherapy aide. The primary responsibility of the physiotherapy department is inpatient care.  Outpatient services are also provided and referrals received are prioritized according to acuity.  Home assessments are performed for the less mobile clientele or to ensure safety in the home setting.  If the client lives in one of the coastal communities, arrangements are made for clients to be flown from their community to receive physiotherapy intervention at WGH for an established period of time.
